Ag Féachaint Siar  SFC Final 1976 (Replay)

Forty four years ago The Downs contested their sixth county final of the decade when they took on a very formidable Moate All Whites team which was back boned by many of the Carmalite college All Ireland winning team. In The drawn encounter The Downs had ample opportunity to win the game, however, in the replay the outcome was clear cut and Moate were deserving winners. Interestingly, this win for Moate compensated somewhat for their loss to The Downs in the 1970 decider when that game also went to a replay!
