Covid -19 Virus

In line with the most recent measures announced by Government, The HSE and Croke Park the club has ceased all activity in relation to Training, Bingo, Lotto, Walkway or any type of gatherings. We ask all club members and people in our community to, STAY AWAY, STAY AT HOME, and STAY SAFE

 

Important Notice 

Our facilities remain in lockdown during this pandemic and consequently no playing activity or gathering of any description is permitted on club grounds. Access, under strict conditions, is only allowed for essential maintenance and upkeep 

Any unauthorized activity of gatherings on club grounds will be reported to the relevant authorities

We ask everyone to respect the current restrictions and do their bit to protect our community.

 

Club Lotto 

Due to the Covid – 19 restrictions our Lotto is suspended until further notice.

Those of you who have bought tickets for the now postponed draw, which was due to take place on the 30/03/20, will be included in our next draw, as soon as we are allowed to recommence.

The Downs GAA Club wish to thank our supporters for their loyal commitment to our Lotto up to this point in time in what are very trying circumstances.

 

Ag Féachain Siar – Scór Na Nóg 1992

1992 was an historic year for the club in Scór Na Nóg when for the first time, these young dancers won the Leinster Title for the very first time and went on to represent their club and county in the All Ireland final which was held in Athlone. This marked the beginning of a very successful period for the club, in Scór. And over the next twenty years they added seven Leinster Titles and


Well Done

Well done to clubman Kevin McGuire on his fundraising Cyclethon on Saturday last when he completed a marathon fourteen and a half hours cycle covering over three hundred kilometers in a two kilometer circuit near his home. Kevin wishes to sincerely thank all those who contributed to this noteworthy fundraiser which exceeded his expectations by multiples. Kevin will be presenting the proceeds to Frontline Staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital in the coming days.

The wishes to express its thanks to those volunteers who have, over the last number of weeks, have carried out necessary maintenance work on our pitches and grounds, whilst observing  HSE  guidelines.

Changes to our Club messaging service

The club has made changes to its messaging service. The Teamer messaging system that you have been familiar with has been discontinued. 

From this point onward you will only be able receive club messages via a new APP called ‘ClubZap’. You will need a smartphone to access this App Go to the App Store download the App and follow the simple instructions to register.


Bingo

As outlined above, bingo has been suspended.


Underage Registration/Coaching

As outlined above coaching and play has been suspended.

Club Shop

Our club shop will remains closed until further notice


Membership 2020

Membership can be purchased via anyone of our Committee or online at www.thedownsgaa.com.

We encourage people to use online where possible during the health crisis
