Bingo continues every Friday at 8.30pm, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable night’s entertainment.Volunteers are needed to help with Bingo on a rota for just one night per month. If interested contact Tommy 087-2949714 or any committee member.

Senior Championship 

Our senior team travelled to Rochfortbridge last Sunday evening to play Athlone. This was a must win for both sides and Athlone raced out of the blocks into a three point lead early on. The Downs looked to be struggling until Ian Martin found the net, a vital score that seemed to settle the team. Luke Loughlin added three brilliant points from long distance before the half was up and we led at the interval 1-05 to 0-05. The Downs continue the second half where they had left off in the first and looked dangerous with every attack. Further goals from Phillip Doherty, Adam Loughlin and Johnathan Lyman all adding to the goals tally giving The Downs a comfortable 4-11 to 0-08 win.

Minor Championship 

Our minors had a vital win in the second round of the championship against Coralstown/Kinnegad last Wednesday evening 1-06 to 0-05.

U16 Boys Semi Final:

Good luck to the lads who travel to Castledaly this Sunday to play Cill Óige (Rosemount / Castledaly) in the division 2 semi final at 1130am.

Ladies Football 

On this Thursday August 22nd, The Downs Ladies are away to Milltown in the third round of the senior championship, throw in at 715pm.
