It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Suzanne Dowdall, late of Clonkill. Sue was a great supporter of club activities over the years, following Oisin and Alannah in the Black and amber. To her entire family we send our sincere deepest sympathies. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Division 1

In our final league game of the 2019 campaign, we travelled to take on neighbors St. Loman’s. The Downs got off to a sluggish start and trailed 1-02 to 0-02 after ten minutes of play. But following the slow start the lads began to find some rythem and Luke Loughlin added a number of well taken score before some great ball movement found Ian Martin who added to his goal count for the campaign. The Downs led 1-04 to 1-02. The second half was similar to the first with St. Loman’s getting the better start. But the result was sealed mid-way through the half when Kevin O’ Sullivan had a brilliant solo attempt find the net and the lads looked comfortable until the final whistle. Full time 2-08 to 1-07
