Junior Championship

The Downs kept their winning start to this year’s Junior Championship with a one point victory over St. Lomans in The Downs last Tuesday. The Downs started well and through two first half goals from Dylan Carroll and Donal Coughlan led by one point at the interval. However, St. Lomans battled back and victory for The Downs looked in doubt as they trailed by two points with less than ten to play. Our defence held strong and prevented any further concessions in the closing minutes, with three points including a long distance free from goalkeeper Trevor Martin securing a 2-13 to 3-09 victory for The Downs.
