The Downs finished the half the stronger with Donal Coughlan alert to a loose ball to find the net. Half Time The Downs led 1-08 to 0-07. The second half unfortunately didn’t go our way and the home side soon found momentum and raced into a commanding lead. U14 Girls

On a beautiful Saturday morning our u14 girls made the trip into St Lomans to play in the semi taking on the home side. The Downs were first to get on the score sheet with 4 quick points and a goal. But St. Lomans responded quickly with a few nice scores. Going in at half time we had a lead of 5 points. With the wind against us in the second half we had to work very hard. Scores were coming from both sides hard and fast to leave it all even at full time on a score of 2-09 each. With both teams tiered after a fast and pulsating game of football from end to end we had to go to extra time. This excellent bunch of girls have a brilliant never say die attitude and we're well prepared for added time. At the start of extra time our girls looked sharper and started much faster with some brilliant scores. All of the downs girls work extremely hard leaving no player unmarked and The Downs ran out convincing winners in the end on a score of The Downs 4-11 St Lomans 3-10. We are through to the final next weekend Team listing.
