Club notes for week commencing 3rd July 2017   03/07/2017

Division 2 League Champions

On Friday last, in Cusack we took on Miltownpass in the league final. The Downs had a dream start with Luke Loughlin finding the net inside the first minute. However, scoring chances for both sides were limited for the remainder of the half at 1-04 to 0-2. The Downs remained in control of the game for the majority of the second keeping their opponents to 0-3 with just over ten minutes remaining. A miltownpass penalty however may have sparked some concern and doubt, but our lads show great mental strength to respond and close out the game which they appeared to control for long spells. Full time score 1-09 to 1-05. Team: C. McCormack, P. Murray, S. Egerton, J. Moran, C. Coughlan, D. Egerton, N. Gavin, D. Clarke, S. Raleigh, D. Egerton, L. Folan, A. Loughlin, L. Loughlin, A. Kilmartin, Dylan Carroll, subs used C. Murray, I. Martin, K. Maguire.
