Minor Championship Final     The Downs 1:13       Shandonagh 2:16

On Sunday in TEG Cusack Park we ended a brilliant three year run in the Minor Championship. Back to back titles and finalists is a tremendous achievement. Scoring in the 4^th minute to equalise the scores we unfortunately didn’t convert enough of the possession and scoring opportunities and didn’t score again until the 23rd minute 0:2 to 1:4, we went in at half time 0:5 to 1:8.  We had a great start to the second half scoring 1:1 to cut the difference to 0:2, but we couldn’t maintain the momentum and Shandongh extended their lead. International Honours

Congratulations to Pat Leavy who was coach of the Irelands Australian Rules Womens  team who took the silverware from the 2016 AFL Europe Euro Cup 9-aside tournament in Lisbon Portugal beating England in the Final.

Clothes Collections

The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags of clothes can be left with any team coach or committee member. Please ask family, neighbours, friend and co-workers to fill a bag.

Clothes can be left in the Blue Bin beside the scoreboard.
