Under 14s
The lads returned home from their 3 days and 2 nights in London on Sunday evening with many great memories and new friends. We had two 9 aside teams participating in the St Paul's Academy International Tournament hosted by our old friends Dulwich Harps. Full report next week but needless to say the crack was 90 and a brilliant time was had by all.

Junior Championship                       The Downs  2:5         Caulry 1:13

A poor start to the game behind by 0:4 to 0:0 at ten minutes proved costly at the end. Trailing  0:7 to 1:2 at halftime we were unable to make up the difference and suffered our first defeat in the competition.

Senior championship                        The Downs 0:10        Maryland 1:9

On Sunday we travelled to Moate for our second game of the championship. In ideal conditions this was a closely contested game with no more than two points separating the sides throughout. With The Downs holding a slight advantage we conceded a penalty which put Maryland ahead, a strong finish to the half by The Downs levelled the scores at the break 1:3 to 0:6. With the scores level on 50 minutes it was Maryland who converted their possession to gain the two points. The Downs will look at this game as one that got away as we had the possession to win the game but didn’t convert it into scores. Team: Kevin McGuire, Peter Murray, Mark Kelly, Trevor McCormack, Jack Hogan, Mark Dalton, Niall Nolan, Brendan Murtagh, PJ Maguire, Kevin Smullen, Luke Folan, Shane Power, Stephen Devine, Adam Loughlin, Niall Gavin. Subs Used: Dean Egerton, Alan Dowdall, Darragh Egerton.
